A dandy (also known as a beau or gallant) is term historically used to describe a man who places particular importance upon physical appearance, refined language, and leisurely hobbies, pursued with the appearance of nonchalance in a cult of self. Let's talk about neckwear. Somehow, by the middle of the 20th century, it seemed to have become more about restraint, than an elegant fashion statement. By the 1960's British Invasion and "Mod" fashion period, there was a sensual return to the late 1890's opulence in fashion, as well as a crossing of gender lines, which made for some very interesting and innovative design concepts. All of these things are behind the inspiration of my new creation, "The Dandy Tie". The Dandy Tie.
